Meeting the Highest Standards in Higher Education

Minerva University is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), 1080 Marina Village Parkway, Suite 500 Alameda, CA 94501, (510) 748-9001 wscuc.org.

In 2023, Minerva Institute for Research and Scholarship doing business as Minerva University officially changed its name to Minerva University.

Accreditation reflects WSCUC's rigorous evaluation of Minerva University's academic quality, governance, financial sustainability, student outcomes, faculty, curriculum, and operations. The achievement is the result of years of planning, assessment, and continuous improvement across all aspects of the institution.

Accreditation Milestones

February 2014

KGI–Minerva Relationship Approved

WSCUC approved the affiliation between Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) and Minerva, allowing the establishment of Minerva Schools at KGI and approval of its academic programs.

July 2019

Transition to Minerva Institute

Minerva Institute for Research and Scholarship assumed responsibility for funding and operating Minerva Schools in preparation for independent accreditation.

June 2021

Initial Accreditation Granted

WSCUC granted initial accreditation to Minerva University, recognizing it as a freestanding, independent, accredited institution.

February 2026

Following a special site visit during the winter of 2026, WSCUC affirmed Minerva University's accreditation. The official action letter was published in March 2026.
